ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has formed a two-member special committee to ensure that overseas Pakistanis must have the right to vote in the upcoming general elections.

The committee members included Dr Shireen Mizari and Fawad Chaudhry. The committee members have been directed to attend the briefing at NADRA office. Besides the committee members, PTI leaders Arif Alvi and Sardar Zahoor will also attend the meeting to present their party’s point of view on the matter.

According to details, PTI Chief Imran Khan made it clear on Wednesday that in the past years, the overseas Pakistanis were kept deprived of their basic right, adding the time has come when overseas Pakistanis must have the right to vote.

The PTI chief said no excuse would be accepted now. The party will fight for the basic right of overseas Pakistanis. He is hoping that NADRA would play role as national institution and will assist the court in completing the pending affairs, Khan said. The PTI has decided to put all its weight into the side of overseas Pakistanis, he said.
