KARACHI: Sindh Home Minister Sohail Anwar Siyal on Tuesday took notice of media reports about the illegal detention of citizens by District Jahanabad (West) police and directed the relevant deputy inspector general to take action against the involved policemen.
Siyal said these unlawful detentions not only cause grave concern amongst common citizens but also portray a bad image of the Karachi police as a whole.
He maintained that the malpractice of keeping citizens in illegal detention should be ended and those involved in it be punished severely.
