Theatre actor and director Omair Rana is conducting a workshop at the Knowledge Factory designed at discovering and developing skills related to drama, theatre and performance. Participants will develop an understanding of drama through practical and theoretical study, realise the performance possibilities of text and other stimuli, use dramatic forms and structures to communicate feelings and ideas to an audience, develop skills in drama, both individually and in groups, develop understanding of the processes leading to performance and stimulate an enjoyment of drama. The workshop will start in July with its first level. It is open to all above the age of 16. The workshop fee will be Rs 6,500 for the complete Course 1. The initial level would consist of 10 hours in total (8-10 days) ie Monday, Wednesday and Thursday throughout the month of July.
This would be the introductory level covering the following: Working with the Text, Generating Ideas, Basic Improvisation, Working in Pairs and Groups, Introduction to Characterisation, Acting 101.
