CM Shehbaz says public welfare PML-N’s core agenda

LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif said on Monday that a comprehensive programme of the national development and prosperity had been moved forward by the ruling government, adding that solid steps were taken for the welfare of the general public.

While talking to the elected representatives who called on him on Monday, he said, “Positive results have been yielded from different steps taken by the government for the development of health, education, agriculture and other sectors.”

He said that the Punjab government considered all its resources as a sacred trust and had efficiently utilised the resources to improve the quality of. “Public welfare is the core agenda of the government while leveling baseless allegations and speaking frequent lies is the sole purpose of the political opponents,” he stated.

CM Shehbaz added that without caring for the opponents of development, transparent completion of development projects had been ensured by the government.

“The public welfare programmes will be moved forward speedily…2018 is the year of the defeat of those who are engaged in the politics of lies and allegations. We will go to the masses with the records of public service and national development.”

The chief minister also lauded the efforts of his party, saying that Pakistan Muslim League-N (PML-N) promoted the democratic culture of the national development and prosperity. He said, “The people only want peace and prosperity and national development. On the other side, the ‘sit-in group’ has shown enmity with the people by impeding the projects of public welfare.”

About the political rivals, Shehbaz Sharif stated that ‘Niazi’ and ‘Zardari’ who used to level allegations against each other were now united for the sake of their personal interests. “Both are two sides of the same coin and Niazi-Zardari hookup has been fully exposed before the nation,” he went on to claim.

The PML-N president said that the defeated political elements had promoted the politics of deceits, falsehood and baseless allegations, stressing, “The conscious people of Pakistan will totally reject such elements in general elections because a lie has no legs to stand upon.”

“Faces of the elements engaged in the politics of accusations have been fully exposed before the people because the claimants of change have not given anything to people except hollow slogans. “The elements involved in sit-ins are afraid of the performance of the PML-N government and defeat is their fate in the next general elections,” he predicted.

“The defeated elements have opposed the welfare of the masses and they will be taught a lesson by the people in future. The opponents may use any number of negative tactics but we will continue to move forward public welfare process,” concluded the Punjab CM.

MNAs Begum Iffat Liaqat and Sultan Haider Ali were among those who called on the chief minister.
