KARACHI: Police killed two alleged robbers and one another injured during an encounter in Defence Housing Authority (DHA) area of the city in the wee hours of Monday.
According to rescue sources, a gang of three robbers were looting people at gunpoint in Phase 1-A market of DHA, receiving information a police reached the scene. The accused opened fire on the police team which was retaliated.
During the exchange of fire for some time, two robbers Shakil, aged 35, and Arsalan, 30, suffered bullet injuries and died on the spot, while one of their accomplices, Shahid sustained severe bullet injuries.
The police also recovered weapons, bullets, a motorbike, cash and cell phones from the spot.
The bodies and injured were shifted to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Center for medico-legal formalities and treatment, respectively.
