LAHORE: The procedural delays are hampering the payment of monthly salaries to the families of the Punjab government officers, who died during the service, adding to their financial difficulties and badly impacting the government’s policy of last year to facilitate them, reported a local English newspaper.
The official sources stated that families of at least nine government officials, employees of provincial Services and General Administration Department (S&GAD), but working in other departments or in the field do not have any money since the officials died during the service.
“Salaries are the only immediate relief for the bereaved families as they will get pensions after a long departmental procedure,” the official said.
