KARACHI: The Sindh High Court (SHC) on Friday restrained the anti-corruption department from alleged harassment of former chief minister Sindh Arbab Ghulam Raheem in respect to an enquiry of alleged corruption during his term.
A division bench was hearing the plea Rahim’s plea in which he maintained that of anti-corruption department is ‘harassing’ him.
The former CM maintained that he is being politically victimized by the provincial government led by the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP).
He contended that he would be arrested with malafide intention ahead of the general elections as he plans to contest the election against the ruling party.
He requested the court to restrain anti-corruption department from harassing him. Directing the respondents to ensure submission of their comments, the court put off the hearing.
Rahim served as the chief minister of Sindh from 2003 to 2007 in General (retd) Pervez Musharraf’s tenure as president.
