Minister for Railways Khawaja Saad Rafique on Thursday alleged that the “combined forces” of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan and Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari have been “attacking” the democratic set-up in the country and that both the leaders are working towards weakening the democracy in Pakistan.

Taking to his Twitter handle, Saad Rafique stated,” Imran and Zardari may fight with us as much as they want but they shouldn’t fight with the democracy. The democratic system is weakening due to the combined attacks of Imran and Zardari”.

Continuing his tirade, Saad Rafique criticised the workings of National Accountability Bureau (NAB) and stated,”Nawaz Sharif and his supporters are being dealt with unfairly. The whole system of justice and accountability is biased and non-transparent”.

Calling out NAB, the minister stated,”What is the real purpose of NAB? Investigation or publicity? This is the world’s only investigation in which news of an inquiry breaks first and the respondents are informed later. If nothing is proven who will be responsible for the ongoing media trail?”
