KARACHI: President Mamnoon Hussain on Monday directed concerned authorities to solve issues of Pakistani-Bengalis on a priority basis.
He said this while talking to a delegation of Pak-Muslim alliance led by Khawaja Salman, son of Pakistan Freedom Movement leader Khawaja Khairuddin (late) here in Karachi.
The President said National Database and Regulatory Authority (NADRA) will also be directed to avoid creating impediments in issuing identity cards to Pakistani-Bengali citizens.
He said they are legal citizens of the country who have given historic sacrifices for the country and deserve complete respect.
Earlier, the president had said that Pakistan will continue to play its role for peace and stability in the region with the cooperation of its allies. He was addressing the under training officers of the National Management Course in Islamabad.
The president said Pakistan is located at the heart of the region and is affected by the regional situation. He said Pakistan has achieved significant successes at the foreign policy front.
The president said that the government, security forces and other law enforcement agencies have successfully overpowered the menace of terrorism. He stressed on enhancing communication between the people and executive for redressing the grievances of the people.
