Teenage girl gang-raped, murdered in Azad Kashmir

MUZZAFARABAD: The body of a 16-year-old girl was found in a stormwater drain in district Poonch early Saturday morning.

The initial postmortem report revealed that the teenager was gang-raped and then murdered. According to the girl’s parents, she had disappeared about three weeks ago.

The family staged a protest after the body was found and claimed that they registered a complaint when she disappeared but the area police had done nothing in this regard.

Earlier on Wednesday, the body of a university student, who had gone missing five days ago, was found from Faisalabad.

Initial postmortem of the woman, who was a student of MA English, had revealed evidence indicating she had been subjected to rape before being killed. According to the authorities, the body also bore marks of torture.

The student had not returned home from her university earlier this week, after which her worried family had registered an FIR with the local police. No trace of her found was found until her body was recovered on March 28.
