RAWALPINDI: A successful test fire of homemade Submarine Launched Cruise (SLC) Missile ‘Babur’, having a range of 450km, was conducted here on Thursday, Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) said.
Fired from an underwater dynamic platform, the missile hit its target with precision and accuracy, meeting all the flight parameters, ISPR said.
SLCM Babur has the capacity of delivering various types of payloads and is made using state of the art technologies including underwater controlled propulsion, advanced guidance and navigation features.
The test was witnessed Strategic Plans Division (SPD) director general, National Engineering and Scientific Commission (NESCOM) chairman, Naval Strategic Force Command (NSFC) commander, senior officials, scientists and engineers from Strategic Scientific Organisations.
The Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee also congratulated the scientists, engineers and NSFC personnel for successful achievement of this highly significant milestone.
The president and prime minister also conveyed their congratulations to the scientists, engineers and NSFC personnel involved in the effort.
