Another 144 civil servants with dual nationalities disclosed: report

ISLAMABAD: As many as 144 more civil servants with dual citizenship were unveiled by the Supreme Court-formed committee, a media report said.

While the total number of the senior bureaucrats with dual nationality now becoming 357, sources informed that these civil servants had citizenships of the United States, United Kingdom, New Zealand, Australia, and some European countries.

The top court had on February 14 asked the federal departments to submit lists of all officers holding dual nationalities within 15 days. Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Mian Saqib Nisar said that the relevant law would be examined and that presently they were  just collecting data of all officers.

On January 17, the CJP had called for information about the civil servants and judges in the district and superior judiciary having dual citizenship. Taking suo moto notice, the chief justice had directed registrars of all the five courts and the Establishment Division secretary to submit reports in this regard.
