PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Inspector General Police (IGP) Salahuddin Mehsud on Thursday launched a mobile application that will inform the police immediately about a crime as the app would automatically point out the location of the crime scene with the help of Google maps.
According to details, the app can be downloaded from the police website free of cost in any Android smartphone and the general public can use it in an event of burglary, theft, murder or even a road accident.
The IGP said that by pressing a single button, police would automatically be informed about the crime scene and it would be automatically notified to the concerned police stations and city patrol force who would reach the site immediately.
He further went on to say that the KP police was on the forefront of introducing new and state of the art technology in the province, and due to this, the crimes ratio was lowest as compared to the previous years.
“The app would increase the level of coordination between police and the masses,” the IGP concluded.
