Television and stage artist Jamil Fakhri was laid to rest in Miani Sahib Graveyard on Friday. Famous artists including Qavi Khan, Irfan Khosat, Tariq Aziz and a large number of citizens joined his funeral prayer at Qila Lukshman Singh.
Before passing away on Thursday, Jamil, 65, after a paralysis attack on May 31, had been in Mayo Hospital. He left behind a widow and three children.
Fakhri’s close friends believe that the death of his young son, Ali Ayaz Fakhri, in the USA a few months ago, affected Fakhri’s health.
Fakhri acted in various TV and stage play and his role of as police inspector Jaffar Husain in a PTV play Andhera Ujala gained popularity.
