Accountability court hears Balochistan mega corruption case

QUETTA: Accountability court on Tuesday heard the Balochistan mega corruption case where former finance adviser Khalid Langav, former secretary Mushtaq Raisani, former local government board secretary Faisal Jamal, and former local government secretary Hafiz Abdul Basit appeared before the court.

The court recorded statements of two witnesses and summoned more witnesses to record statements in the next hearing on March 26.

Moreover, the accountability court headed by Judge Majeed Nassar also heard a stunt corruption case on Tuesday in which ten accused, including former Balochistan MSD in charge Yusuf Bizenjo appeared in the court while Prosecutor Rashid Golra appeared from NAB’s side.

The court issued non-bailable warrants of two accused technical experts, Shoaib Qureshi and Rehmatullah, for their non-appearance. The accused were provided with copies of reference and the hearing was adjourned till March 26.

Furthermore, the accountability court heard the illegal assets case of DIG Riaz Ahmed.

Former DIG Riaz appeared in the court and Judge Abdul Majeed Nassar summoned witnesses at the next hearing, adjourning the case till March 14.

On the other hand, Balochistan High Court accepted former food minister Izhar Khosa’s bail plea.

According to details, the high court admitting the bail application filed by Izhar Hussain Khosa in the sum of rupees 0.5 million ordered his release. He had filed the bail application on March 8.
