A helicopter service is to be started soon for the exploring sites and oil fields, Pakistan Today has learnt. The service would be available to multinational exploration and production companies working in Pakistan in areas like Bhit gas field (Sindh), Khahkzeli, Kadanwari gas field (Sindh), Sui gas field (Balochistan), and Sandak (Balochistan).

Chief Executive Officer Airspeed Charter Naveed Aslam while talking to Pakistan Today said that this service would be meant for multinational executives and industrialists. The service is starting with one helicopter; however more will be added later. Companies like British Petroleum (BP), ENI (an Italian multinational oil and gas company), and BHP Billiton will benefit from this service.

Aslam stressed the importance of the service and hoped that it would fill an important gap. He added that the service would be available free of cost in time of national disaster or calamity.

This chopper will accommodate 4 to 6 passengers. In addition to this Pakistan International Airlines will also make flights to the said destination while JS Air – a private airline – has terminated their flights after one of their planes crashed in the area last November.
