ISLAMABAD: The Supreme Court (SC) has accepted the additional attorney general’s (AAG) and Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) DG’s plea and given them 5 days to register a case against Hussain Haqqani in the Memogate scandal.

During the hearing, Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) inquired what steps had been taken to bring Hussain Haqqani back to which the AAG replied that an important meeting was held under the attorney general (AG).

On the CJP’s inquiry as to why the case had not been registered, the AG requested for 5 days to be given for registering the case.

The court accepted the request and stated: “Tell us what steps were taken to bring Hussain Haqqani back in next hearing.”

The case has been adjourned for 15 days.
