CM expresses grief over tragic incidents, seeks report of both accidents
CHAKWAL: At least 13 people were killed in two separate road accidents in Chakwal and Gujar Khan on Monday morning and late Sunday night.
At least four people were left dead and over eleven injured after a bus and dumper collided on Mianwali Road in Chakwal on Monday.
According to rescue sources, the bus was travelling from Dera Ghazi Khan to Rawalpindi. Rescue sources said that the injured who were in critical condition were shifted to hospital.
In another accident, at least nine people were killed and 29 others were wounded in Gujar Khan on Sunday night.
Rescue sources said a passenger bus collided with two trucks on the GT Road late Sunday. The incident occurred after one of the trucks attempted to overtake. The deceased included five men, two women and two minors, they said.
The injured were immediately shifted to district headquarters hospital, Rawalpindi where the condition of 14 passengers was critical, sources informed further.
The deceased and injured belonged to Narowal, they added.
CM EXPRESSES GRIEF OVER TRAGIC INCIDENTS:
Punjab Chief Minister Punjab Shehbaz Sharif later on Monday expressed a deep sense of sorrow over the loss of precious human lives in the Gujar Khan and Chakwal road accidents and extended heartfelt sympathies to the bereaved families.
He also directed the administration to provide the best treatment facilities to the injured and sought a report of both the accidents.
