Aisam-ul-Haq Qureshi and his Indian partner Rohan Bopanna came up from a set down to approach to the semifinals of the Gerry Weber Open with a 4-6, 7-6 (5), 10-4 victory over Dustin Brown of Germany and France’s Gael Monfils at Halle, Germany on Wednesday. The “Indo-Pak Express”, was taken by surprise by their unseeded opponents who broke Bopanna and Qureshi once to run away with the first set comfortably. However, Qureshi and Bopanna managed to get their act together and bounced back in the second set before wrapping the match in the deciding third set. In the semifinals, Bopanna and Qureshi will take on winners of the match between the German combo of Christopher Kas and Philipp Kohlschreiber and Finland’s Jarkko Nieminen and Viktor Troicki of Serbia.
