The court sough the details of how many people had been granted bail in the pending cases, how much money had been recovered, how much money the salvage committee had recovered and how many people had received concessions.

Raja Amir told the court that NAB was facing difficulties in catrrying out its duties as the bureau had no chairman and prosecutor general. Khawaja Haris Ahmed, BoP’s lawyer, told the court that the inquiry report prepared by Punjab Additional Inspector General Aftab Sultan on Supreme Court’s order had exonerated senior lawyers Wasim Sajjad, Ali Wasim Sajjad and Syed Sharifuddin Pirzada, but found enough evidence against Babar Awan and Malik Muhammad Qayyum for taking huge amounts of money other than their professional fees.

The chief justice asked Haris could a lawyer be questioned for taking a certain fee. Haris said the said lawyers had taken money other than the demanded fees.
