LAHORE: Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has said that the three to four spells of rain and snowfall in the country in March are not going to improve the water situation in major reservoirs, as reported by a local English daily.
The mild drought-like conditions that the south-west Balochistan is facing might be aggravated to a severe level, while the existing mild drought conditions over Tharparker may also get worse due to less rainfall in March, according to the PMD.
On Thursday, the upper parts of the country and some Punjab cities experienced light rain which caused a slight drop in the temperature. Lahore’s maximum temperature dropped from 27 degrees Celsius on Wednesday to 23 degrees due to a light drizzle early in the morning and cloud cover later.
