The Islami Jamiat Talba (IJT) Hailey College wing held a protest led by IJT leader Wajid Ali on Wednesday. A large number of students took part in the protest, chanting slogan against Punjab University (PU) Vice Chancellor (VC) Dr Mujahid Kamran and the administration.
The protesters were criticising the varsity administration for not turning the three-and-half-year M.Com into a two-year degree as directed by the Higher Education Commission.
They also demanded that B.Com information technology students be given the right to get admission to the varsity’s other departments.
They criticised the university administration for lack of air-conditioning and computer laboratories in Hailey College’s new building. According to them, students were facing various problems because of the VC’s unreasonable policies.
