Customs Intelligence seizes drugs worth millions from vehicle near Nowshera

NOWSHERA: The Customs Intelligence on Thursday seized drugs worth millions from a vehicle near Nowshera.

Director General Customs Intelligence Shaukat Ali directed a team to raid a vehicle after being tipped-off. The customs officials conducted snap checking of vehicles at Rashakai Interchange.

During the operation, a suspected vehicle ran away from the security post despite being signalled to stop. The driver stopped his vehicle by a roadside and escaped after a brief chase.

Search of the vehicle led to the seizure of 25 kilograms of high-quality hashish and three kilograms of opium. According to the Customs Intelligence, they seized drugs worth Rs 3.9 million in the international market.
