Turkish envoy lauds Shehbaz’s role in strengthening Pak-Turkey friendship

LAHORE: Turkey’s Ambassador to Pakistan, Ishan Mustafa Yurdakul on Wednesday congratulated Punjab Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif on becoming the acting president of Pakistan Muslim League – Nawaz (PML-N) and commended his role in strengthening Pakistan-Turkey friendship.

Talking to CM Shehbaz Sharif during a meeting with him, Ishan Mustafa Yurdakul said that Turkish leadership appreciated the efforts of the CM in strengthening bilateral relations.

The Turkish ambassador said that Shehbaz Sharif had surprised everybody by completing development projects with unprecedented speed and everyone recognised the untiring efforts and steps taken for public welfare.

“Your speed in performing different assignments is unusual and unique and no one can compete with your fast pace. Your pace of work is unprecedented,” he added.

Ishan Mustafa Yurdakul said that Punjab had completed projects with great speed and there was no other leader in the country who could match this commitment and hard work.

He said, “You have spent all your energy on serving the masses and the unique development work carried out in Lahore and other parts of the province manifest your unusual abilities.”

He said that Turkey would adopt different steps to further promote trade and investment with the Punjab government in the future, adding that Pakistan was his second home and Turkey would speedily move further to promote Pak-Turkey friendship as Pakistan had provided every possible cooperation to Turkish investors.

Shehbaz Sharif congratulated Ishan Mustafa Yurdakul over his posting and expressed good wishes for his success. He said that Pak-Turkey friendship was tied in historically important relations of brotherhood, mutual love and harmony, adding that Turkey had always sided with Pakistan and the heartbeats of both countries were in unison.

The Chief Minister said that Turkish leadership had also extended unconditional support to Pakistan at the diplomatic level. It is noteworthy that a number of projects had been carried out in Punjab with Turkish collaboration and the Turkish support in health, solid waste management and other sectors is praiseworthy. He said that cooperation would be promoted in future with Turkey in water and sanitation, low-cost housing schemes and other sectors, adding that Turkey had always extended its cooperation to Pakistan with an open heart.

Turkish investors, Provincial Ministers Ayesha Ghaus Pasha and Kh Imran Nazir, chief secretary, PML-N leader Khawaja Ahmad Hassaan, Lahore lord mayor and others were present on the occasion.
