LAHORE: After attaining selection in the Junior National Golf Team through a three-day trial conducted by Pakistan Golf Federation, five players— three boys and two girls— left for Vietnam on Sunday to compete in the Faldo Series Final Championship.

The event is scheduled to commence from March 1, 2018, at the Faldo Designed Languna Lang Golf Course in Vietnam.

Those selected in the Boys category are Damil Ataullah in the under 15 years age category; Saqib Tufail in the under 18 years age category; and Ahmed Baig in the under 21 years age category. As for the girls, the selected ones are Humna Amjad under the 15-year category and Aania Farooq under the 21-year category.

The manager of the team is Asad Khan, who is also the vice president of Pakistan Golf Federation and a golfer with considerable international experience.

The Boys category selected ones are golfers who have already shown immense ability during the trials and also during the various golf championships. The two girls, Aania Farooq from Karachi and Humna Amjad from Kamra have also had training sessions at the Defence Raya Golf Course.

Before his departure for Vietnam, Asad Khan was bold enough to predict a victory for Ahmed Baig in the under-21 year category. He also had high expectations from Damil Ataullah and Saqib Tufail.
