LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Sunday said that the Pakistan Muslim League – Nawaz (PML-N) government had always set records of selfless service to the people and their complete tenure was full of such records.

Addressing a gathering of PML-N workers, he said that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan set records of lies and U-Turns, adding that his government had set a record of poor performance in the KP in the last four years. He said that the sit-in group created hurdles in the progress of the country.

He further said that because of the baseless allegations levelled by PTI, its real face had been exposed before people. The opponents of public welfare were afraid of PML-N’s popularity, he added.

The chief minister said that the people of Pakistan would never vote in favour of the elements involved in negative politics. They had a poor performance in their province and were now involved in negative politics but people were fed up with their pessimistic politics, he added.

The chief minister hoped that those who had wasted the time of nation with their damaging politics would not get anything but remorse.

He said that people had no concern with hollow slogans and adverse politics but were only interested in development and prosperity. He further said that neither the conspiracy to mislead the public through lies would succeed nor would the people allow the deceptive elements who were hindering development to move ahead.

The chief minister said that people would hold such elements accountable and would keep moving forward without paying any heed to their conspiracies. He said that timely completion of development projects, their high quality and transparency were the trademark of PML-N government who had always kept the development and happiness of the public as its first preference. He further said that serving the people selflessly was their basic mission and they would attain it at any cost.

He said added that transparent projects of PML-N were self-explanatory and were acknowledged internationally. He further said that good governance, merit and transparency were the foundations of their politics.

The chief minister said that PML-N had set historical records of public service and had worked hard to take the country forward and would keep striving hard to go ahead on the road of progress.
