Police’s failure accounts for rash of crime

ISLAMABAD: Crime rate in the federal capital is increasing day-by-day, as car lifters stole 19 vehicles and robbers struck at 22 places in various parts of the city in the last week compared to 10 vehicles stolen and 19 robbery incidents reported in the week before, Pakistan Today has learnt.
According to data collected by Pakistan Today, the Margalla Police Station had the worst record in the last week, as five cases of car theft, three cases of robbery and one case each of car lifting and car accident were reported in its precincts.
Three cases of robbery were reported and one vehicle was stolen in the Bara Kahu Police Station precincts last week while the same number of robbery cases were reported in the week before.
The Shalimar Police Station registered two cases of car lifting and two robbery cases last week while two robbery cases and one car lifting case was reported in the police station in the week before.
Two cases of car lifting were reported at the Kohsar Police Station last week while in the week before, one case each of car lifting and murder were reported in the police station.
The Aabpara Police Station registered one case each of car lifting and robbery last week while in the week before, only one case of car lifting was registered. The Sabzi Mandi Police Station registered two cases of robbery and one case of car lifting last week while one case of robbery was reported in the week before.
The Shahzad Town Police Station registered two cases of robbery and one case of car lifting last week while in the week before, one case each of car lifting and robbery had occurred in its precincts.
The Industrial Area Police Station registered two cases of car lifting and one case of robbery last week while in the week before, it had registered two cases of car lifting and one case of robbery. Last week, the Ternol Police Station registered one case each of car lifting and robbery while in the week before, it had registered two cases of robbery.
The Sihala Police Station registered three cases of car lifting last week and in the week before, it had registered one case of robbery. The Golra and Women Police stations had registered one each case of robbery last week and no major incidents were reported in the week before.
