Rapper Dr  Dre has ended a legal battle over digital sales of his iconic album ‘The Chronic’ after settling on the amount of damages he is owed.

In April, a US district judge ruled label executives at Death Row Records were selling Dre’s 1992 debut online without his authorisation and that he had received less money from web sales than he was legally entitled to.

The hip-hop star was expected to testify at a week-long trial to determine whether he was entitled to 100 per cent of the profits but on Monday, his lawyers filed a notice of settlement in a Los Angeles federal court, indicating the two sides had reached an agreement over the sum owed. The amount of the settlement was not made public.
