Founders’ Day held at PAF College Sargodha

SARGODHA: Founders’ Day was held at the Pakistan Air Force (PAF) College, Sargodha on Saturday.

PAF chief Air Chief Marshal Sohail Aman was the chief guest at the occasion. In his address he said that the PAF College Sargodha was the nursery of hardcore professionals, infused with the values of integrity, sincerity, serving before self and devotion to duty.

Speaking to the students he said the time would continue to pose formidable challenges, but a solid academic foundation and wholesome personality would enable them to face all odds with courage. “Thus, it is your responsibility to fully prepare yourselves to cope with these emerging challenges,” he added.

He congratulated the parents on the success of their children and also commended the efforts of the faculty members. Earlier at the event, the chief guest inaugurated the ‘Sargodhian Heroes Monument’.

The chief guest gave away prizes to the winning houses and individuals. The Academic Colour for overall excellence in academics was shared by Muhammad Faheem (Munir House), Muhammad Ehtisham (Minhas House) and M Umais Shabbir (Alam House). Syed Fasih Abbas (Allauddin House) was declared the best athlete of the year. The Chigwell shield for sports was shared by the Allauddin House and the Minhas House. General Service Training Cup for co-curricular activities was won by the Munir House, while the Chief of Air Staff Trophy for academics was jointly won by Munir and Safi Houses.  The Munir House also lifted the coveted Quaid-e-Azam Shield for being the overall champion year. An annual report was also presented by Air Vice Marshal (r) Qasim Masood Khan, Principal PAF College Sargodha.

The students of the college also presented an impressive gymnastics and martial arts display and a well-synchronised P.T. show. The college also put up an attractive aero modelling display in which young boys manoeuvred radio-controlled aircraft models in the air. A large number of serving and retired defence personnel, retired teachers, senior bureaucrats and parents of the students were present on the occasion.
