Police said Tuesday that a masked man had allegedly thrown acid at a 20-year-old woman in Sialkot district of Punjab.
According to details, Muradpur Station House Officer (SHO) Usman Jawed said that a man allegedly went to the woman’s house and threw acid at the girl, adding the man knocked on the door of the victim’s house on the pretext that he was delivering milk sent by her mother.
The SHO further said that the attacker threw acid at the woman as soon as she opened the door. He also said that the victim had received minor burn injuries on her face and hands. During the attack, three minor sisters of the girl also received burn injuries, SHO Jawed added.
Later, Rescue 1122 officials shifted the four victims to Government Allama Iqbal Memorial Teaching Hospital to receive medical treatment.
The girls said in their statement to the police that the alleged attacker was carrying the acid in a jug. Police had started an investigation into the incident to nab the culprit at the earliest.
