PA fails to discuss Asma Jahangir in first session after her death: report

LAHORE: Punjab Assembly failed to discuss the demise of eminent lawyer and human rights activists Asma Jahangir, in the very first session that took place after her death, as reported by a local English daily.

According to reports, at least 30 legislators were present in the House when the House was adjourned, but no one brought up the subject.

The House proceedings started at 3:45 pm while the scheduled time was 2 pm and so the speaker left many questions related to the food and agriculture departments pending till Tuesday. The Opposition benches boycotted proceedings as the parliamentary secretary and minister for agriculture were not present in the House for the hearing.
