PEC-Sindh issues 98 nomination forms for Senate elections

KARACHI: A total of 98 nomination forms for the Senate elections have been issued by the Provincial Election Commission-Sindh (PEC-Sindh) so far.

PEC-Sindh official told that as many as 66 nomination forms were issued on Saturday, and another 32 were issued here on Sunday.

The Sindh Electoral College contains 168 provincial members, but due to the demise of two provincial assembly’s members, now the Electoral College stands at 166 members.

The lawmakers from Sindh province will elect 12 senators—seven for general seats, two for the seats reserved for women, two for technocrats/Ulma and one seat for non-Muslim.

According to the Senate elections schedule, nomination papers can be filed from February 4 to 8. The polling for the Senate elections will be held on March 3 from 9 am to 4 pm at Provincial Assembly, Karachi.
