Benazir’s struggle guiding light for political activists: Qaim

Benazir Bhutto was a leader of international stature and her struggle for the cause of democracy is a guiding light for the political activists around the globe, particularly, those in Pakistan, Sindh Chief Minister Qaim Ali Shah said on Saturday. He was speaking during a meeting held at the Chief Minister’s House to discuss the arrangements in connection with the 58th birth anniversary of Benazir Bhutto.
Shah, who is also the president of PPP Sindh, said Benazir Bhutto made unforgettable sacrifices for the cause of democracy in the country. He recalled that during her tenures as prime minister, Bhutto had served the masses and launched exemplary projects for development of the country and the welfare of the public. “More than three million people accorded a warm welcome to Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto on her return to her homeland on October 18, 2007,” he added.
He said that the present government is striving under the leadership of President Asif Ali Zardari to complete the mission and programme of Bhutto. Earlier, the meeting held a discussion on the arrangements to celebrate the 58th birth anniversary of Benazir Bhutto on June 21. The chief minister directed the office-bearers of all bodies of the Pakistan People’s Party across Sindh to celebrate the birth anniversary of the late party leader with respect and enthusiasm and start their arrangements.
He also directed them to highlight various aspects of the life and struggle of Benazir Bhutto to pay homage to the great leader.
