LAHORE: The Lahore High Court (LHC) on Thursday issued notices to the Punjab government and police on a petition seeking the removal of barriers at several places of the provincial capital.
The places include Nawaz Sharif’s residence at Jati Umra, Chief Minister’s House in Model Town and the Inspector General of Police’s Office etc.
Justice Shahid Kareem conducted the hearing of the plea filed by Azhar Siddique Advocate who had adopted the stance that blocking the routes was a violation of citizens’ basic rights.
The petitioner had requested the court to direct the authorities to remove the barricades and open the routes. The court after hearing the arguments issued notices to the relevant authorities.
