Interior Minister Rehman Malik on Saturday directed the Islamabad Inspector General of Police (IGP) to beef up security at the Supreme Court, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Diplomatic Enclave and Pak Secretariat. Addressing a meeting with the Islamabad chief commissioner, IGP police and other officials, Malik praised the district administration and Islamabad police for ensuring foolproof security during the budget session.
He said improving law and order was the government’s top priority and directed the Islamabad IGP to ensure peace in the federal capital. He said honest and efficient station house officers (SHOs) should be posted, while underperformers should be transferred.
He also directed the IGP to implement the Supreme Court’s order of shoulder promotion for the capital’s police. Malik also announced a one-month salary bonus for policemen who were at duty during the budget session on Friday.

  1. Stressing security, condemning terrorist attacks…that is all that he and the rest of the government officials do!
When in the world would we actually see an end to all this violence? When would we become proactive rather than reactive? Or should I rather say will we ever become proactive rather than reactive?
