Ahsan stresses need for quality education to end ignorance, backwardness

SIALKOT: Federal Minister for Interior Ahsan Iqbal has stressed the need for the promotion of quality education to end ignorance and backwardness besides putting the country on the highway to national prosperity and progress.

He stated this while addressing the participants of a laptops distribution ceremony held at the University of Gujrat (UoG) Narowal Campus on Saturday.

The federal minister said that only through education can the darkness of backwardness, ignorance, terrorism, militancy and insurgency be removed. The promotion of quality education could also help in the building of a good personality and character of the students who were the future of the nation, said Ahsan.

He also asked the students to focus on the utilisation of advanced technologies to put Pakistan in the line of the technologically advanced countries and said that the provision of quality education was the government’s top priority. The PML-N government was making sincere efforts to ensure an easy access to quality education for everyone, said the minister.

Ahsan said that the foreign media was also hailing Pakistan’s positive and effective economic policies, and has declared Pakistan as an emerging economy.

He said that the current government has already put the country on the highway towards national, economic and political stability and that national development, as well as the progressive growth rate of the country, was increasing day by day.

UoG Narowal campus Principal Dr Muhammad Younas, Narowal District Council Chairman Ahmed Iqbal, MPAs Rana Manan Khan and Sardar Ramaish Singh Arora, and Narowal Deputy Commissioner Ali Anaan Qamar were also present on the occasion.
