Following the Islamabad High Court’s order that barred him from appearing on electronic media, television host Aamir Liaquat Hussain has launched his own news website.

The eponymous website called Aamir Liaquat Hussain News by the televangelist came almost over a month after Justice Shaukat Aziz Siddiqui had banned him from making an appearance on the television, in any radio programme, show or advertisement.

Launched on January 14, the Urdu-language news website features categories including local, international, health, sports, business, technology and entertainment. While the website has a section with columns and video commentaries by the controversial TV host, it also features a collection of Aamir’s childhood and family photos.

“Even if the voice is banned 100,000 times, the picture is forbidden or if giving analysis on any programme is banned… the water carves its own path. It is a news site, an entertainment site… it is my website where I can say whatever I want with freedom,” says Aamir in a video announcing the launch of his new website.

It may be noted that the IHC had banned Aamir while hearing a petition filed by a citizen seeking a permanent ban on the anchorperson on allegations that he has abused his influence to spread discord and hatred.
