FAISALABAD: Minister of State for Interior Talal Chaudhary said Saturday that preserving the sanctity of vote will be made a part of the agenda of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) manifesto for the next general elections.

Former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif would highlight the agenda during his public meeting to be held at Jaranwala on January 27, the minister said while addressing a press conference at Municipal Committee Jaranwala. He said the importance of the public meeting would be further enhanced as Nawaz Sharif would highlight the issue regarding maintaining the sanctity of the vote.

He also said there was a dire need for reforms in the judicial system so that people could get speedy and cheap justice at their doorsteps, adding the PML-N had also included it in the agenda for the upcoming elections. Highlighting the performance of his government, including continuing development work, he said development would also be placed high on PML-N’s election manifesto, he added.

He said when the PML-N came into power, the country was plunged into darkness with daily loadshedding while terrorism had chocked the entire development process. However, the visionary leadership of Nawaz Sharif had steered the country out of crises by overcoming the menace of loadshedding and terrorism, he added. He further said that PML-N government had also put the country on the road to progress and prosperity by launching projects like China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).

Moreover, Chaudhry said that the former prime minister had not only made Pakistan an atomic power but also brought revolutionary changes in the education and health sectors as well.

He said Jaranwala was a citadel of PML-N’s power and its people loved Nawaz Sharif very much. Nawaz Sharif had announced a motorway for the area and 90 per cent work on it had already been completed, he added.

The minister also said that a network of roads had been extended to rural areas, whereas, an exports complex had also been completed in Jaranwala, while adding that the construction of a 250-bed hospital would start soon to provide the best health facilities to people.

He criticised the opposition and said that they were using religion for their political gains. The protest of joint opposition in Lahore had failed badly as the people were fully aware of their designs and they would also reject them in the next elections by voting for PML-N, he added.

Federal Parliamentary Secretary Chaudhary Shehbaz Babar and member of provincial assembly Rae Haidar were also present at the conference.
