LAHORE: The opposition leader in the Punjab Assembly and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf leader Mehmood ur Rashid has said that the PTI MPAs will decide about the resignations after mutual consultation.

“We will not hesitate for a moment about tendering resignations from the assembly if PTI Chairman Imran Khan directs so,” he said.

“Whatever decision the party will take, it will be as per the limits of the constitution and law,” added Mehmood.

He also said that Imran Khan did not insult the parliament. “The Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) has rather insulted the parliament by passing a legislation in favour of a disqualified person. To make a disqualified person the head of a party after the supreme court has declared him dishonest is not democracy,” he said in a statement.

The statement of Defence Minister Khawaja Asif in the national assembly is nothing but a joke, he added.

Mehmood also said that Shehbaz Sharif is the most controversial chief minister of Punjab. In an informal conversation with the reporters at the Punjab assembly, he said that every mega project in Punjab is riddled with corruption, misappropriation and irregularities.

The Ashiana housing project is the most recent example, added Mehmood.
