Governor appreciates contributions of Memon community in trade, business

KARACHI: Sindh Governor Muhammad Zubair on Wednesday lauded the contributions of the Memon community in various fields including trade, education, health, social welfare, recreation and media.

He was speaking at the launching of the book titled “100 prominent Memon personalities”. Zubair was of the view that this was not a book only but an authentic document on the role of the prominent Memon personalities and will apprise the younger generation of their contributions in various fields. He also spoke about the vision of the present government towards the progress and development of the country and for the betterment of its people.

The governor said that due to the government’s efforts, we have seen an improvement in the law and order, economic and energy sector.

Zubair said that the Memon community has also contributed a lot towards the promotion of the trade and business activities, therefore consultation with them in formulation economic and financial policies is important.

He stated that the government, with the cooperation of the Memon community, was ensuring comprehensive measures for the development of the social sector. Governor also pointed out that Memon community has established hospitals and schools in the province, especially in the Karachi metropolis.

Prominent industrialists including Arif Habib, Aqeel Karim Dadhi and Siraj Kasim Teli also spoke on the occasion.
