Security forces foil sabotage bid, recover arms in Khuzdar

QUETTA: Security forces including the Frontier Corps foiled a sabotage bid and seized a huge quantity of ammunition in Sarona area of Khuzdar district, according to security officials on Tuesday.

Acting on a tip-off, the security forces and the FC personnel carried out a search operation in the area and seized ammunition. The seized ammunitions including rocket launchers, two hand grenade, 44 rounds, seven rounds RPG, four walkie-talkies and one satellite which covered in Tepori’s mountain near Sarona.

The officials said that these ammunitions would be used for sabotage activities by the militants. Law enforcement agencies cordoned off the entire area and started a search to trace out the suspects.

BOMB DEFUSED: In Quetta, the police also foiled a bid of sabotage and defused a planted bomb near the Balochistan University at Sariab area. Following on a tip-off, a police party along with bomb disposal squad team reached the site and successfully defused five kilograms remote control bomb.

The official said that the remote control device was fixed on a bicycle parked near the Balochistan University. The police cordoned off the entire area and started a search to trace out suspects.
