Lux Style Awards have always been an unpredictable affair and usually mired in controversy and this year doesn’t seem to be any different.

LSA released the award nominations last week and received quite a bit of criticism in the different categories. What got more attention was that two of the most popular dramas from the previous year did not make it to the list namely Yakeen Ka Safar and Baaghi.

Seems like the nomination committee took the criticism seriously as the office has now issued the following corrections.

“Due to an inadvertent error, the nominations of the category Best TV Play and Best TV OST have been revised as follows,” said LSA Awards Manager Fareshteh Aslam.

In the updated list of nominations, Sammi’s nomination for ‘Best TV Play’ has been replaced by Baaghi whereas Ali Azmet’s name has been removed from ‘Best Original Soundtrack’ and replaced with Shuja Haider, also for Baaghi.

Revised nominations:

Best TV Play

  • Alif Allah Aur Insan
  • Baaghi
  • Muqabil
  • O Rangreza
  • Sang e Mar Mar

Best Orignal Soundtrack

  • Adnan Dhool and Sana Zulfiqar for Bay Khudi
  • Jimmy Khan for Tumaray Hain
  • Nabeel Shaukat for Woh Aik Pal
  • Sahir Ali Bagga for O Rangreza
  • Shuja Haider for Baaghi

The mistakes were detected and corrections announced just ahead of the Viewer’s Choice Polls that begin across the country today.

The LUX Style Awards for excellence in Fashion, Film, Music, and Television are scheduled to take place next month in Lahore.
