The Lahore Bar Association (LBA) called off its strike against poor security arrangements in sessions courts on Thursday after the government took measures to reinforce security. LBA President Shahzad Hassan Sheikh announced the decision to call off the strike in the association’s general house meeting in Aiwan-e-Adl bar room.
LBA had announced a strike for an indefinite period against two murders in a court. LBA continued the strike for three days and demanded security be beefed up in the court premises. During the lawyers’ strike, the Punjab government deployed an extra police force and issued a notification to set up a new police check-post in court premises.
The construction work for rising the sessions court boundary wall has already been started.
