KARACHI: Karachi police on Monday claimed to have arrested 15 suspects, including a Lyari gang war member, in different raids conducted in the metropolis.
According to Malir SSP Malik Altaf, police raided the Ansu Goth area of Malir and apprehended a fugitive Lyari gang Baba Ladla group member, Manwar Ali. The accused was wanted by the police in several criminal activities including extortion, said Altaf.
During search operations in Garden, Hyderi market and SITE areas, police arrested five street criminals and recovered four TT pistols with rounds, and motorbikes from their possession.
Police also carried out raids in New Karachi and Madina Colony nabbing four drug peddlers and recovered a huge quantity of drugs from their possession.
Five motorbike lifters were also arrested from from Shershah and Gulberg areas. The police also recovered four TT pistols with bullets and three stolen motorbike from them.
