It comes as no surprise that Kareena Kapoor Khan has been invited as a guest speaker at UK’s Durham University. The actor is bold, confident and doesn’t hesitate to share her thoughts and views.
A source close to Kareena revealed, “Kareena has been approached to be a speaker at Durham. She has always been considered to be a game changer and a trendsetter; be it in her personal or professional life. She has also always worked at championing the cause of women empowerment. In her films, too, she has played strong women characters: Ki & Ka, Udta Punjab or 3 Idiots. Post her pregnancy, her brand value hasn’t changed; in fact it has probably gone higher and she and her son Taimur Ali Khan are constantly in the spotlight.”
Meanwhile on the work front, Kareena will be seen next in Veere Di Wedding which has been directed by Shashanka Ghosh. It also stars Sonam Kapoor, Swara Bhasker, Shikha Talsania and Sumeet Vyas.
While many labelled Veere Di Wedding as Kareena’s comeback film, considering it is her first film after her pregnancy, Kareena on this remarked, “I’m hesitant to call Veere Di Wedding a comeback film because I never really went away. I’m fortunate enough to still get plenty of great scripts to read, but when Rhea (Kapoor) came to me with this film, I was excited at the prospect of working on a film that is produced by women and stars four strong women.”
Veere Di Wedding is slated to release on May 18, 2018.
