MARDAN: The inquiry committee constituted for the inquiry into the birth and death of an infant outside the Mardan Medical Complex (MMC), has recommended the suspension of two medical practitioners for negligence.

The inquiry committee in its report on Saturday while declaring the nurse of the labour room not-guilty, said that the two doctors on duty in MMC at the time of the incident did not handle the case accordingly.

It should be mentioned that on December 30, 2017, a 27-year-old woman, Rehana had given birth outside the MMC in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa after she was denied admission to the hospital due to an ‘already packed Gynae ward’.
