The last time Karan Johar and Kangana Ranaut shared screen space, it did not go down too well with the director and sparked a long debate on nepotism in the film industry.
However, it now seems that Karan is ready to leave all bad blood in 2017 and is looking to start afresh. As he gears up to host upcoming reality television show India’s Next Superstar, the filmmaker, when asked if Kangana will be invited as a celebrity judge, at a press conference said: “I am sure when Star Plus (the channel which will air the show) invites her we will be happy to have her. Our heart is big, our house is open to all. We will happily, lovingly and respectfully welcome her on the show.”
Rohit Shetty will also be judging the show alongside Karan.
In the show, both the directors will be looking for talent that has the potential and personality to be India’s next superstar and the qualities include acting, dancing, personality and confidence.
The first celebrity judge on the show will be Priyanka Chopra, who says in the promos that the show will give many artistes to show their talent and the right platform. Like Priyanka, Kangana is also a self-made star and has been very vocal about the Bollywood politics of nepotism.
Karan and Kangana had a falling out when the latter tagged him as a ‘flag-bearer of Nepotism’ on his show Koffee With Karan.
After the show, KJo and Kangana didn’t leave a chance to mud fling each other during events and interviews.
During IIFA Awards 2017, Saif Ali Khan, Varun Dhawan and Karan Johar took a jibe at the actress by saying ‘Nepotism Rocks’.
Similarly, Kangana acted in a video for a YouTube channel in which she took a dig at KJo and his films indirectly.
Immediately after the video was released, Karan shared a tweet on his Twitter page and many assumed that it was hinted at the actress. The tweet read, “Dear talent …I wish you would stay away from overconfidence and delusion….they are constantly conspiring against you…don’t you see it?”
