Spiritual leader Pir Hameeduddin Sialvi has announced a movement from January 9 (Tuesday) seeking Punjab Law Minister Rana Sanaullah’s resignation, a private media outlet has reported.
“All people should gather at Data Darbar in Lahore on January 9 (Tuesday),” he announced addressing a gathering of his followers at Sial Sharif, Sargodha.
The Sargodha-based leader has been demanding the resignation of the provincial law minister over his controversial remarks about religious minority Ahmadi community with regards to the Khatm-e-Nabuwwat (finality of the Prophethood).
He said the protestors would stay at Data Darbar until the resignation of Rana Sanaullah.
“Everybody should resolve to stay put and support the movement till its decisive end,” he said.
Sialvi also urged his supporters not to vote for the ruling Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz in the next general elections. “Promise me that you won’t vote for the PML-N under any circumstances,” he said. Earlier Sialvi had called for the resignation of Rana Sanaullah by December 31.
