RAWALPINDI: As many as 11 colleges of Rawalpindi district are running without principals.
According to media reports, Higher Education Department (HED) Punjab has made a list of names to fill the vacant posts. A high-level committee has been constituted in connection with the appointment of principals. The inductions will be made through interviews.
Sources said that the colleges’ directorate has been directed to send the name of professors for making appointments.
The colleges operating without principals include Government College for Women Peshawar road, Government College for Women Mohan Pura, Government College for Women Dhok Ratta, Government college for Women Gawalmandi, Government College for Women Zafar ul Haq road, Government College for Women Taxila, Government College for Women Wah Cantt, Government College for Women Phagwari, Government College for Women Murree, Government Post Graduate College for Boys Satellite Town Rawalpindi and Government College for Boys Taxila.
The students and their parents have demanded immediate filling of vacant posts of principals to ensure a smooth flow of administrative and educational activities in these colleges.
