Senator Raza Rabbani, head of Parliamentary Commission on Implementation on 18th amendment, has categorically made it clear that if by 30th June the devolution process of 18 ministries is not completed then these ministries would automatically be devolved to the provinces.
Talking to media outside the Parliament House on Wednesday Raza Rabbani has said that the 30th June deadline is not that of an individual or the commission but it is according to the constitution and if the deadline is not met then it could have deep repercussions.
He further said that if the 18 ministries are not devolved by this deadline then they would automatically devolved to the provinces but we want that the process is completed in correct way so that there are no repercussions.
He further said that if he failed to meet the deadline of the 18th amendment then it would be violation of constitution. In response to the question he said that there is no pressure on the President or the PM regarding non-devolution of any ministry in the province.
Rabbani said that as far the matter of appointing Waseem Sajjad as member of the committee is concerned the Prime Minister made his appointment, there was no vacancy in the commission while Ishaq Dar’s resignation was not accepted.
He said even inside the party several voices are being raised on the devolution of ministries but the country is passing through the difficult face and we cannot afford to stop the devolution process.
